Confrontational, is one of the many words used in describing this ministry. It's no secret why considering the fact I see things in black and white, like ink on a page. I do not believe there are gray areas in the word of God and therefore, I cannot preach about such blasphemy.

One of the areas I enjoy confront believers about involves sowing seeds of faith. Not a tremendously popular topic, local mission work continues to be at the root of great miracles. I am proud to claim responsibility for many new church members at Calvary Chapel St Petersburg. Yes, God used me to get people in church and He wants to use YOU as well!

In lieu of this and because we are now knee deep in my study of the book of Luke, I felt inspired to share the following scripture with you.

"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. 3 Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. 4 Do not take a purse or bag or sandals; and do not greet anyone on the road.

5 "When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' 6 If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you. 7 Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house.

8 "When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.' 10 But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdom of God is near.' 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.

13 "Woe to you, Korazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. 14 But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. 15 And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths. 16 "He who listens to you listens to me; he who rejects you rejects me; but he who rejects me rejects him who sent me." (Luke 10:2-16)

What do these verses mean to you? Do you hear the Spirit whisper in your ear? If not, you need to go back and read the scripture again until it does. If you cannot hear the voice of God speak through the words above, you are missing out on the Lord's plan for your life. If the verses above do not speak to your heart, YOU ARE NOT LISTENING.

Do not be afraid of rejection or persecution, it is part of your mission. Do not let the enemy keep you from the rewards that await you in heaven remembering that God's promise to His servants begins on earth.

Go out into the world and allow God's plan for your life to take effect. By trusting and serving the Lord you are given the opportunity to define discipleship to those around you. By living according to His ways, we honor God almighty and bring glory to the great sacrifice that was made on the cross by our King.

The harvest is plentiful, the mission field stretches much farther than the eye can see. Great rewards await those strong enough to engage in sowing seeds in the name of Jesus Christ.

But the workers are few, are you among them? Are you know for your actions? Your words? Or both? Is the word of God flowing from your lips? Are you honoring God at least once in each conversation? Are you listening to the Spirit?

I invite you to boldly walk the mission field sowing seeds of God's eternal love with each step. Through your local church or this ministry, you are called to partake in the harvest, to share the word of God and to lead others to Jesus Christ. Let's pray!

Weekly Prayer   Back to Top

Father God;
We thank you
for your blessings in our lives
And for your love that surrounds us each day,
We thank you for the righteous people in our lives and their love
And ask you to look over them as only you can.

Lord we thank you for forgiving our sins
And for your presence in our lives,
We ask you to continue to lead our paths
So that we may serve and glorify you
And partake in the harvest.

Father we pray you will make us stronger
In times when we are weak and forget
You will always be there watching over us
Providing all we need in this life and the next.

Praise God,
Amen!
